Everyone knows about them. They’re the subject of block-buster Hollywood movies and high-end video games. Often romanticized as heroes of old, these elite few push every boundary and strive to be the best. They’re Fighter Pilots. These swaggering outliers in our society are continuously characterized as egotistical loners who would rather die than fail.
But consider this, what if Jesus was a Fighter Pilot? A hilarious concept that’s almost too difficult to imagine. How could two things be any further apart? Jesus would never be self-centered or have a need for speed. However, Fighter Pilots already consider themselves God, so picturing Jesus as one might not be that much of a stretch.
All fun aside, can there be any similarities between flying fighters and Christianity? Can Fighter Pilots even spell grace, hope, and love? Probably not, but there’s only one way to find out. So jump-in, strap-in, and check your ego at the door.
Time to hit Mach 3 and pull a few G’s. And maybe, just maybe, touch the face of God.
